Will Therapy Services is a small private practice of both part-time and full-time highly experienced, knowledgeable and compassionate therapists, in the Kitchener-Waterloo Region. Our therapy team specializes in the treatment of complex and acute mental health disorders, across the life span (ages 0 and up). Will Therapy Services utilizes an eclectic therapeutic model, with all of our therapists trained in at least one trauma specific therapy, couples therapy modality, or Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). We offer individual, family and couples therapy, as well as parenting support.

Position: Trauma Therapist – Independent Contractor – IN PERSON

Job Description
As a therapist with Will Therapy Services, all of your referrals and intakes will be taken care of for you. Your role is to: provide high quality, clinical services including psychotherapy/counselling, clinical record keeping, update client files as needed, booking client sessions (after the initial session) and receiving payment for sessions, as well as ensuring files are kept up to the standards set out in your regulatory body. All other administrative duties will be carried out by administrative staff and/or the Practice Owner/Director.
Hours of Work: 5-10 hours per week to start (1-2 days) with the possible opportunity to increase hours; Hours will be consecutive and including evening hours and/or weekends; day of week is flexible; POSITION IS IN PERSON IN KITCHENER, ONTARIO
We REQUIRE:

FULL COMPLETION (no students please) OF A MASTERS DEGREE IN A COUNSELLING DISCIPLINE (i.e., Counselling Psychology, or Social Work)

MUST BE TRAINED in Brainspotting (Phases 1 and 2) and/or EMDR Certified or in process of becoming Certified in EMDR

2+ YEARS OF POST-GRADUATE DIRECT THERAPY EXPERIENCE required, not for profit and/or private practice acceptable

FULL REGISTRATION with the College of Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) or College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers of Ontario (OCSWSSW)

Experience with 2SLGBTQQIA+ and/or identified minority populations an asset

Must provide own personal professional liability insurance

Police and vulnerable sector check required

Must be willing to commit to a one-year contract

Must be able to work in person in Kitchener, ON
Our Ideal Candidate:

Has strong communication skills, presents themselves professionally in an empathic and understanding manner with patience

Self-motivated, energetic individual with the ability to work autonomously, as well as part of a fabulous team of other therapists

Presents confidently and well under pressure, especially during challenging (and potentially conflictual) situations with clients

Diligent in staying on top of professional duties and ethics as outlined by their regulatory College

Knowledge of OWL practice management software is an asset but not mandatory
Bonus if You Have:

Experience with, and training completed, to provide Couples or Family therapy, and Children/Teens between 6-18
-
Completed or in the process of achieving certification in a Couples Specific Modality – Gottman Method or EFT (Emotionally-Focused Therapy)

Training in Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), or Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Somatic Therapies or another trauma-specific training
